How to size a drum fan by CFM and ACH

Map room volume and target air changes to a 20, 24, or 30 in high-velocity drum-fan class — or accept NO_MATCH.

Start from volume, not blade inches alone

Drum fans are sold by blade diameter and published CFM. Blade size without airflow still leaves you guessing for a hot garage or warehouse bay. This site maps required CFM from room volume and ACH to three verified VEVOR US classes.

Why ACH on this screen

Air changes per hour is a transparent shopping shorthand: required CFM ≈ volume × ACH ÷ 60. Example: a 20 × 25 × 10 ft garage (5,000 ft³) at ACH 8 needs about 667 CFM → 20 in / 4,800 CFM class. Higher ACH or larger volumes step up to 24 in / 7,500 or 30 in / 12,000. Above 12,000 CFM → NO_MATCH.

What this screen is not

It is not sealed HVAC design, not a dust collector CFM check (see DustCFM), and not a respirator plan. High-velocity fans move air directionally; furniture, doors, and outdoor wind change real circulation.
